MASSIVE WIN FOR GRIFFITH TEACHERS
For seven years I’ve pushed to get Griffith properly recognised as a place where teachers are needed, valued and supported. Today, that hard work has paid off.
Griffith schools have finally moved from Level 2 to Level 4 incentive status. That’s a major shift, and one of the biggest wins for teachers our region has ever seen.
This change means real support for teachers who choose to work here, including up to $8,000 in rural and remote relocation assistance, a 50% rental subsidy, and stamp duty relief of up to $10,000.
It applies to:
Beelbangera Public School
Binya Public School
Griffith East Public School
Griffith North Public School
Griffith Public School
Hanwood Public School
Kalinda School
Lake Wyangan Public School
Griffith High School
Wade High School
Tharbogang Public School
Yenda Public School
Yoogali Public School
This sits alongside the successful demerger of our schools and the construction of new school halls. Together, these changes strengthen local schools, improve working conditions for teachers, and create better learning environments for our kids.
Better incentives mean we can retain the great teachers we already have and attract new ones to our community. That stability makes a real difference in classrooms, and better outcomes for students flow through to families, jobs and the whole community.
Teachers do the hard yards every day. I’m glad they’re finally getting the recognition and support they deserve here in Griffith.
