About Murray

Geographically, the Murray electorate is the largest in NSW and up there amongst the biggest in the country. Stretching from Yanco in the Riverina through to the Wentworth shire on the South Australian border, Murray covers an area of around 110,000 square kilometres.

Home to Australia’s food bowl and a key staple food producer, Murray can produce anything from rice, cereals, cotton and wool through to fruit, vegetables, livestock and dairy.

The success of Murray is heavily underpinned by access to reliable irrigation which in turn supports a diverse range of agricultural industries and flows on to our rural towns, small business and manufacturing.
