About Helen

I’m Helen Dalton, the independent Member for Murray.

I was raised on a wheat and sheep property in the small country town of Rankins Springs, where a love of agriculture was instilled in me from an early age — and it still drives everything I do. Alongside my husband, I continue to operate a family farming business, and I’m proud that my children grew up on the land just as I did. My son Campbell is now the fourth generation of our family involved in agriculture, and my grandchildren will grow up understanding where their food comes from.

Agriculture — especially irrigated farming — underpins the success of our towns, our businesses, our environment and our communities. Primary industry is a major economic driver for our country. It feeds our nation, and we could not survive without our farmers.

As an independent, I answer only to the people of Murray. My focus is practical outcomes, accountability, and standing up for regional communities every day.
