About Helen

KEEPING MURRAY MOVING

Raised on a wheat and sheep property in the small country town of Rankins Springs in NSW instilled in me a love of agriculture that still burns strongly today.

I cherish the fact my four children have all had the opportunity to grow up on a family farm just like I did. I am proud my son Campbell will be the fourth generation of my family involved in agriculture and my grandchildren will grow up understanding where their food comes from.

Agriculture, especially irrigated farming, underpins the success of our towns, our businesses, the environment and our communities.

Primary industry is a major economic driver for our country and it feeds our nation, we couldn’t survive without our farmers.

Murray needs fair and equitable rights and delivery of irrigation water.

Our towns deserve access to health and education services.

Our innovative businesses need reliable digital connectivity.

Murray is growing and we need investment to ensure a long term, sustainable future.

My decision to move into politics wasn’t easy nor was it handed to me. I had to work hard and contest three elections before I was successful and won.

For 37 years the National Party held the seat of Murray but in 2019 people voted for change and they voted for me to be the voice of Murray.

It is an honour to represent such a vibrant and productive electorate and is something I will never take for granted.

A lot of work has been completed and there is still so much more to do, but I can assure you I am up for the challenge and will continue to work hard right across the length and breadth of Murray.
