HELEN DALTON MP WELCOMES FOUR FREE PRE-SCHOOLS TO THE RIVERINA.
Four free, high-quality public preschools in the Riverina will help improve the lives of hundreds of children, according to the Independent Member for Murray, Helen Dalton.
“As a former school teacher, I understand the incredible value that pre-school education creates for our children and our community,” Helen said.
“I have long argued for more pre-school education in our community, and I commend the State Labor Government for listening and acting,” Helen said.
The four new preschools will all be located at existing public schools in order to help make life easier for families, Ms. Dalton said.
“By building these four pre-schools at existing primary school locations, it will make life easier for families when it comes to pick-up and drop-off times.”
“This is extremely important in regional areas particularly, given the distances that can be involved.”
The pre-schools will be located at Beelbangera Public School, Deniliquin South Public School, Hanwood Public School and Leeton Public School. A fifth preschool at the Parkview Public School has already been announced earlier this year.
“I commend the work the Minns Labor Government is doing in this area. It will significantly improve the level of education children in the Riverina receive,” Ms. Dalton said.
“For a long time we had ignored the educational needs of children before they started primary school in prep, and that was a mistake. We now know there are incredible benefits to children if we provide them with quality pre-school education also,” Helen said.
“These pre-schools will benefit the children who attend them, their families, and as a result, our whole community as well.”
“I loved my days as a school-teacher, and it’s great to see our schools and our children getting the attention and resources that they deserve,” Helen said.
