I won't be running for Farrer.
Since Sussan Ley resigned, my phone hasn't stopped ringing. I appreciate every person who urged me to put my hand up, and I gave it serious consideration. But I've made this decision with the best interests of our region in mind.
The fight in NSW Parliament is producing results. In February, the Parliament voted unanimously to support my call for a Federal Royal Commission into water. That doesn't happen by chance. It took years of evidence, community pressure, and refusing to let this issue be swept aside.
2026 has already delivered some massive wins for our community. The momentum is building and I intend to drive it home.
What I will do is hold every Farrer candidate accountable on water. I strongly suggest that every voter in Farrer backs whichever candidate adopts my 7-point water plan and supports a Federal Royal Commission into water. It is crucial for our federal and state governments to be aligned on the most critical issue our region faces.
