IPART reduced water charges

IPART have conceded that farmers are important and backed down on their proposed water delivery rate hikes with a substantial reduction in what we will pay for water.

After many meetings with Premier Chris Minns, Minister for Water Rose Jackson, consultations with pretty much every stakeholder organisation and making Private Members Statements in parliament imploring IPART to reassess their water bill prices, they have listened to me and acted in the best interests of rural and regional NSW.

Although there will still be rate increases, at least they won’t be 3% - 35% every year.

IPART'S proposed exorbitant price increases would have priced farmers out of business and Aussie food off our shelves.
